Project Background

Education is the most powerful tool for social and economic development. Remote villages around Salooni in District Chamba have limited educational infrastructure, resulting in high school dropout rates, child labour and reduced educational opportunities, especially among girls.


Sunrise School presently serves approximately 350 students. The existing school structure is over 40 years old and lacks sufficient space and modern facilities for quality education. The proposed construction of a new school building will create an improved learning environment and increase student capacity to approximately 350 students in the first year.


The project aims to provide accessible, safe, and quality education to children belonging to remote and economically weaker communities.

Project Objectives

  • Construction of a modern school building with classrooms and administrative facilities.
  • Improve access to quality education in rural communities.
  • Increase enrollment and reduce school dropout rates.
  • Encourage girls’ education and reduce gender disparities.
  • Develop intellectual, vocational, and moral skills among students.
  • Create a child-friendly environment with modern educational resources.

Implementation Strategy

Infrastructure Development

Construction of classrooms, administrative block, sanitation facilities, library, computer lab, sports infrastructure and vocational learning facilities.

Academic Enhancement

Appointment of qualified teachers, formation of School Management Committee, training programs and extracurricular activities.

Community Participation

Awareness programs for parents, village education meetings and promotion of girl child education.

  • Formation of Project Implementation Committee

  • Site preparation and foundation ceremony

MONTH 2–10

  • Civil construction work
  • Monitoring and quality checks
  • Procurement of furniture and educational materials

MONTH 11–12

  • Final finishing work
  • Installation of educational infrastructure
  • Project completion and inauguration
